As a special needs parent I am always very apprehensive about the care and education of my son. I was so apprehensive that I homeschooled last year and was considering continuing to homeschool. My son completely hit the jackpot by having Mrs. Epperson as his life skills teacher. She has addressed his academic goals social goals and behavior goals with such enthusiasm consistency and creativity. He has made immense progress this year on all fronts. Mrs. Epperson is truly gifted at connecting with children in general but especially with those children who are differently abled. I am also so grateful for Mrs. Epperson's communication with our family. It can be difficult when your child is unable to share about his/her day at school and through her communication I have a better idea of what is happening at school and how to connect it to our home environment. He really lights up when I mention something he enjoyed at school that he would not have been able to tell me on his own. Mrs. Epperson has also been wonderful in bringing his home culture to school so he feels even more comfortable. She really feels like an extension of our family. I would be remiss if I also didn't mention that my son has very specific diet and health needs. She and her team have been so wonderful with ensuring his health and safety at school. Furthermore it was hard for me to envision a quality education for students placed in a life skills classroom over the computer during this pandemic. I am extremely impressed with the way she has set up the online learning for her students during this unprecedented time. As both an educator and a parent I am so very grateful for the care and education that she and her team provide my son.

I know we typically joke around with each other but they sent these forms to write an appreciation to your favorite teacher so I’ll be nice for once. Thank you for always helping me with school problems work problems and car problems. You could easily ignore me but you don’t so that’s pretty honorable. You genuinely enjoy your job and it shows because you were always willing to help me in the morning or during your flex period. (Maybe not so willing during the flex period but you still helped). I appreciate you always making sure I’m staying in line and out of trouble because we both know sometimes I can go off the deep end occasionally. I am also grateful for you assisting me with potential careers an college options because that is something I really struggle with. Additionally thank you for always being honest and straight forward because that is way more beneficial than sugar coating everything and sometimes people need to hear the truth. I’m going to miss you next year when I’m off at some overpriced school but I’m sure I will reach out for advice every now and then. I know you also tend to forget your students which makes sense because you have like thousands but I hope you don’t forget me because I definitely won’t forget you and all you did for me the last 2 years. I'm making a teacher appreciation post for Mrs.Coldren. She has been the best teacher and influencer that I have ever had at Twin Valley. When I interned with her she gave me so much motivation for me to do things out of my comfort zone and pushed me to try and create new things. She gave me honest feedback when I needed it and helped me through my social anxiety. I would recommend any student at Twin Valley to take forensic science just to have Coldren as a teacher because I know they would not regret it. Because of Coldren I was able to have the confidence to talking to people Im not really comfortable talking to as well as feel more comfortable with public speaking. If I could retake her class and be her intern again I would definitely do it in a heartbeat. She's the teacher and mentor I am going to miss the most during my time at Twin Valley but I know I can always go to her with any trouble and I know that she will be there.

I know we typically joke around with each other but they sent these forms to write an appreciation to your favorite teacher so I’ll be nice for once. Thank you for always helping me with school problems work problems and car problems. You could easily ignore me but you don’t so that’s pretty honorable. You genuinely enjoy your job and it shows because you were always willing to help me in the morning or during your flex period. (Maybe not so willing during the flex period but you still helped). I appreciate you always making sure I’m staying in line and out of trouble because we both know sometimes I can go off the deep end occasionally. I am also grateful for you assisting me with potential careers an college options because that is something I really struggle with. Additionally thank you for always being honest and straight forward because that is way more beneficial than sugar coating everything and sometimes people need to hear the truth. I’m going to miss you next year when I’m off at some overpriced school but I’m sure I will reach out for advice every now and then.
