Carroll S. Arnold Memorial Scholarship
TVCEF is pleased to announce the first year of the Carroll S. Arnold Memorial Scholarship for $5000. This scholarship was funded by a generous donation to TVCEF by the late Mr. Carroll S. Arnold, former Twin Valley teacher, to create the scholarship fund for the purpose of awarding an outstanding senior in the area of social science.

Twin Valley Community Education Foundation Scholarships
Description: Each year two scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded to seniors who have demonstrated outstanding community service. The emphasis will be placed on community service beyond school club activities during their high school career. Applicants must be seniors attending a post-secondary institution in the summer or the fall of their graduation year. Applicants must have completed two academic years at Twin Valley and be enrolled full time as Twin Valley Seniors at the date of application distribution in order to be eligible for this scholarship. Students must submit a list of their community service activities they participated in during High School, along with a typed essay (no hand written materials will be accepted) regarding how these activities affected both their personal life as well as their future aspirations. While GPA will be considered by the TVEC Scholarship Committee, all GPAs are encouraged to apply. The award checks will be given during the evening of the Senior awards program.

Dorothy S. Groff Mathematics Scholarship:
Description: A scholarship in the amount of $5,000 will be awarded to a senior who has been an outstanding student on the basis of their mathematical ability, overall character, and attitude toward school and community. Priority for this scholarship may be given to a student who desires to teach mathematics. Consideration will be given to students entering a college major in a science field requiring a heavy concentration in math or a minor in math (i.e. engineering and industrial technology, applied sciences, physical sciences, business and management, pharmacy, pre-medical, computer science, teaching of mathematics, etc.) Applicants must have a GPA of a 3.4 or higher, must have attended Twin Valley High School at least one full year or more by the application date, and must have demonstrated proficiency in their math selections. Students must submit an essay on the following topic: How will mathematics benefit you in your future career? All essays associated with this application must be typed, no hand written information will be accepted. Applicants must also be available for a brief interview by the TVCEF on a date TBA. This scholarship will be paid in two installments of $2,500 each. The payments will be issued upon receipt of grades at the end of the first and second semesters, respectively. In order to receive scholarship payments, the recipient must continue to major in a math related field. All checks will be made payable to the student’s college.
